Atari, Inc. announced in February that a wet, wild and totally soaked new expansion pack to Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 will ride into stores this June. Rollercoaster Tycoon 3: Soaked! is being developed by Frontier Developments, in conjunction with Chris Sawyer, the creator and sole developer of Rollercoaster Tycoon.

Soaked!, the first expansion pack to RCT3, will let players build and manage their own water parks for the first time.

With nearly nine million units sold life-to-date worldwide, RollerCoaster Tycoon is the #1 Tycoon franchise,” said John Billington, Senior Brand Manager for Atari, Inc. “RCT 3: Soaked! builds on that success by bringing an entirely new summer fun experience to owners of RollerCoaster Tycoon 3, allowing players to thrill their park guests with intense water rides, new coasters, aquatic animal shows, and, of course, tons of interactive water.

With Soaked!, the park guests will catch rays and ride the waves on more than fifty new rides and coasters including super-splash flume rides, massive water slides, wave pools and more.

Players will also be able to create aquatic shows with performing dolphins and killer whales, customizable aquariums with submerged covered walkways, and feature dazzling laser water shows synchronized to music with the H20 MixMaster.

With the Swimming Pool Designer you can add features such as multiple level pools, walkways, diving boards, fountains, hot tubs, jacuzzis, showers and lounge chairs to create the ultimate pool for your park visitors.

A Waterfall Designer will let players add attractive and dynamic landscape enhancements, and you can be sure that great amounts of time have been spent improving the game’s water.

There are over 50 new rides and coasters to add to your parks (including a rollersoaker, single-rail suspended coaster, giant log flume, river rapids and water slides), 16 brand new coaster car designs, interactive water features (such as water cannons, waves, whirlpools and splashes which can be created by a simple mouse movement) and the addition of two new themed designs and a lot more scenery.

A major improvement in the track designer lets you save your rides and scenery along with your coaster designs. Interconnected pool complexes, their associated rides, and scenery can also be saved in one single file.

Peeps also have new behavior in the swimming pool: teens will dive and cannon-ball, children will jump in the water and start paddling, some will even carry around inflatable rafts and floats.

Soaked! seems like a big wave of fun, and it’s not just an expansion but a whole new game in itself. You can bet it will launch with a big splash this summer.
