Tidus Star player of the Zanarkand Abes. His attacks lack power due to his inexperience with the sword. Speed is his greatest asset. As a child he was a crybaby, and tears still come to him easily.He’s all about speed. Use him to attack fast fiends, such as the “leezard leezard” species, but not flying ones. |

Yuna She was taken to Besaid after losing her father ten years ago. There she grew up with Wakka and Lulu, choosing to follow in her father’s footsteps and become a summoner. Being very honest and open, she can’t keep a secret for long.Yuna is your primary healer and white magic user. She also summons powerful aeons (see the AEONS section). |

Auron The legendary guardian, who, along with Jecht, joined High Summoner Braska on his journey to vanquish Sin ten years ago. After their victory, he left Spira for Zanarkand to watch over Tidus. Formerly a warrior monk, he once protected the temples of Yevon.He’s all about power, but with the huge sword he carries, he’s not very fast. His sword however can pierce the armor of many hard-shelled fiends (as long as it has the “Piercing” ability). |

Wakka Yuna’s blitzball-toting guardian. His training has honed the accuracy and power of his shots, which can take down both fast-flying fiends and enemies afar. He’s a competent and versatile fighter, but he has yet to win an argument with Lulu.His primary weapon is a blitzball, which makes it obvious why he’s good to hitting flying fiends and things that are far away. He also initially has the ability to inflict status ailments with special attacks. |

Lulu Yuna’s guardian, and an accomplished black mage. She’s guarded two summoners before Yuna, and learned much from those pilgrimages. No one, not even Wakka, knows how she controls the puppets she uses as weapons.Lulu is your primary black magic caster. She’s weak physically so don’t bother using her dolls for physical attacks, unless you want to take a look for amusement value. |

Kimahri A Ronso youth with a gift for mastering enemies’ abilities, he abandoned his homeland over ten years ago and now watches over Yuna. He speaks only to those he deems worthy, but his fierce appearance belies a gentle heart.Kimahri is probably one of the more variable characters in the game, because he starts in the middle of the sphere grid with many options. If you want him to be more of a spellcaster, you can take him down towards Lulu’s sphere path, or if you want him to be more of a hack-n-slash, take him towards Auron and Wakka. I found him more useful as a hack-n-slash, and especially in the late game when he obtains his legendary weapon, he will start leveling up quickly. |

Rikku An Al Bhed girl trying hard to protect Yuna. She makes up for her speed. Her fear of lightning is just a phobia. She affectionately calls Yuna “Yunie” as a nickname.Rikku’s main thing is her steal ability, which will also dismantle many (but not all) of the machina you might encounter, especially in the desert. She can also use items for attacks and spellcasting, which you can see in the menu when you activate her “Use” ability. |
