Here it is! The best PC life-sim of all time is releasing yet another expansion: The Sims Superstar. Yes, that’s right, your sims can now pursue a career in the spotlight, as the star of a tv show or a movie, a rock star or maybe even a supermodel… if they have the looks! And they will stop at nothing for their place in the Simwalk of Fame.
Studio Town is a place similar to Downtown in Hot Date, you are be able to shop, meet and interact with other Sims, demolish and rebuild lots to your heart’s desire. But there are some major differences: this is also be a place where your Sims can work, make money and become famous. If you want your Sims to work in Studio Town, they will have to quit their previous jobs and contact a Talent Agency.
Your sim will have the chance to be discovered by singing at a karaoke bar or using the open microphone. Using other fame objects, building up their skills and interacting with famous Sims are the key to fame. The Spa is also a good place to start searching for fame and getting known, as well as to get pampered a bit (nothing like a good mud bath to do wonders for your skin).
Fame is the new skill for your Sims to improve. It works like the job meter, with 5 stars that will be filled half at a time, and with each level your sims will meet new fame requisites, rewards and opportunities.
Obviously, there are also new social interactions related to the stardom. Some of these are talk about biz, ask for autograph, talk about self and so on.
At home, your Sims can now hire their own Butler to take care of their residence and their baby while they’re in Studio Town. There are other new NPC’s being introduced, such as the Obsessed Fan, the Record Producer, the Movie Director, the Paparazzi and the Masseuse, among others.
If your Sim Stars go on Vacation, they better watch out for autograph hunters, fans and stalkers!
The Sims Superstar contains many more objects than any of the previous expansions. Some of the new objects include the Star Trailer (because a star needs his/her own trailer), the Music Recording Studio, the Satellite Dish, the Massage Table, the Skydiving Simulator for the daredevil type of sim, the Movie Set and a new Clothing Rack which includes a new type of clothing: High Fashion. A new collection of walls, floors and roofs will make up for more unique residences, and there are many more songs of all genres being added to the stereos and karaoke machines.
Superstar will also add new and exotic skins for your Unleashed pets. Of course, you don’t want your celebrity Sim to have an ordinary dog or cat, right?
This is what your Sims have been waiting for, the opportunity to shine. And Superstar is definitely about fame, fortune and stardom.
