Case 2: Double Down
Use the PDA to go to the apartment. Turn right and look at the blood drops on the floor near the door. Use the Leuko crystal violet on them. Use a swab on the large drop. Inspect the doorknob to get a TP. Turn right again. Inspect the bull’s head. Just behind its right horn on the wall is a bullet, use the tweezers to get it. Examine the bullet and use the adhesive mount on it.
Turn left from Catherine and inspect the note on the fridge for one TP. Inspect the sink for another TP. Turn right and zoom in on the cookie jar and pick up the bug behind the kitchen utensils. Examine the right side of the doorframe, near Catherine’s shoulder to get another TP.
Enter the bedroom. Click on the bed to take a picture. Use a swab on the bloody sheet. Zoom in on the sheet near what looks like a roll of tape and use the UV light. Use some adhesive tape on the fibers. Move right and zoom in on the dresser. Use the flashlight to find a photo, pick it up with the gloves. Inspect the left nightstand for a TP. Between the nightstand and the bed there’s a cell phone, pick it up with the gloves. Use a swab on the blood stain on the back.
Use the PDA to go to the Hospital. Check the patient chart at the foot of the bed for a TP. Inspect the victim. Inspect the ECG monitor to the right of the nightstand for a TP. Inspect the medication cart by the door for another TP. Inspect the IV to get another TP. Click on the spot between the chair and the door, behind it there’s a bug. Pick it up.
Use the PDA to go to the Lab. In the Comparison Microscope, compare the fibers from the bed sheet with CSI Sample Result B. In the Trace Analysis Computer, go to Special Search and analyze the photo and the phone.
Use the PDA to go to the Casino High Rollers’ Room. Click on the aquarium behind Catherine. Inspect the liquor for a TP. Click on the counter next to the uice cartons to find a bug. Inspect the glass doors for a TP, and the plant near the doors for another TP. Turn right past the table and inspect the golden poles for another TP. Talk to Shane about Connie Roth and when he last saw her.
Back at the Hospital, talk to Shane. Ask if he’s alright, if he was at the apartment last night, if they had an argument, if he knew she was pregnant and if there was anyone who wanted to hurt her. Ask if she knew an Eve, if either owns a gun, and mention the bullet on the wall.
Use the PDA and go to the Luxury Suite. Ask Mr. Brower if Connie knew him, mention the phone records, the phone call, fraternizing with casino employees, calling Shane before his shift, and if you can take a look around. Talk to Mrs. Brower about the cut on her hand, Shane, Connie and her critical condition, ask for a DNA sample.
Go to the Hospital and talk to Shane about Connie and Mr. Bower, calling her and get a DNA sample from him.
Go back to the Lab and learn some more info from Sarah. Use the DNA Database to compare Shane’s DNA with the blood drops from the apartment. Go to Brass’ Office and ask for a questioning warrant for Shane.
In the interrogation room, ask Shane what happened last night and what the argument was about. Confront him about not telling everything and mention the trail of blood. Ask if he always leaves for work at 8:45 and why was he late. A call from Sarah tells you the victim is awake.
At the Hospital talk to Connie. Ask if she feels well enough to talk. Ask what happened, if she’s sure it was a man, about Everett. Ask if a gun was involved, where it is now. Ask if you can take a photo of the wounds and a DNA sample. Use the camera on Connie for the photo, the swab is added automatically to the evidence.
Continue asking questions, about the weapon, her clothes and personal items, and anything else she can think of. Zoom in on the nightstand and inspect Connie’s dress. Use the adhesive lifting tape to get some fibers. Click on the letter next to it, pick it up with the gloves.
Go back to the apartment to look for the gun. Enter the bedroom and check the left nightstand. Go back to the Hospital and talk to Connie about the gun. Ask what happened with it.
Go to Brass’ Office and ask for a search warrant for Everett Brower and for photos of the suspects at the Casino. Go to the Luxury Suite. Tell Everett you have a warrant. Take a DNA sample.
Click behind Nicole on the columns near the hallway area. Inspect the engraving on the wall for a TP. Click on the table behind Catherine and inspect the computer. Turn left and click on the bar. Use the LCV on the knife, then swab it. Inspect the statue between the bar and the piano for a TP. Click on the piano, pick up the green handkerchief on the stool with the gloves. Play the piano if you want. Zoom in on the den area and inspect the flowers on the coffee table for a TP. Inspect the lamp on the end table between the two chairs to find a bug.
Go up the stairs and inspect the potted plant. Enter the bedroom and inspect the coat. Use adhesive lifting tape on it to get some fibers. Turn right and look at the end table between the chairs to find a bug on the floor. Turn left and pick up the gun from the case with your gloves. Go back downstairs and ask Everett about the gun.
Go to the Lab. Use the Assembly Table to do a ballistics test with both guns (pick one up, then the other to obtain the bullets). Use the microscope to compare the bullet from the wall with the bullet from Everett’s gun, then with the one from Connie’s gun. Rotate the A bullet twice to get a match.
In Trace Analysis Video/Image Enhancement, examine Connie’s photo of the wounds. Now use the DNA Database to compare the blood from the phone with Connie’s DNA to get a match, then compare the blood from the bed with Connie’s DNA.
Use the microscope again to compare the fibers from Nicole’s coat with those from the bed sheet. Inspect the green handkerchief under the microscope to find a burn mark.
Go to Brass’ Office and ask for an interrogation warrant for Nicole. In the interrogation room, confront Nicole about the fibers on the victim’s bed. Ask about lending the jacket and where she was the night of the attack. Sarah calls, Connie has miscarried.
Go back to the Hospital, talk to Connie about her loss, offer your condolences. Mention Nicole’s coat fibers and ask for a doctor’s report. Go back to the lab and compare the baby’s DNA report with Everett’s DNA to get a paternam match. Go talk to Connie at the Hospital again. Ask her about Everett, Shane and Everett again.
Go to the Luxury Suite and talk to Everett. Ask if he knew about the child, mention the miscarriage. Ask what is relationship is with Connie, what would she get in exchange, what Nicole thinks about it, and if she knows already. Ask why he chose Connie and if Nicole is pregnant with his heir.
Go to the interrogation room to speak to Shane. Ask what is his relationship with Nicole, tell him the child was Everett’s, say that Connie was not having an affair. Talk to Brass ans ask to interrogate Nicole again. Ask if she knew about Connie’s pregnancy. Tell her Connie was carrying Everett’s child, and that it’s not a joke. Everett paid for artificial insemination.
Go to the Lab. You receive the security camera photos. On the Assembly Table, put the ripped photo back together. You will need to flip all the pieces face up and rotate some into their right position. The photo reveals Connie and Everett outside the elevators leading to the suite.
Go to Brass’ Office and ask for a warrant to search Everett’s computer and papers. Go to the Luxury Suite. Zoom in on the table twice. Use the gloves to pick up the brown envelope containint a prenuptial agreement. Use the gloves to pick up the printed email near the fruit bowl. Inspect the medication bottles. Click on the laptop and use the USB drive to extract an encrypted file.
Go to the Lab. Use the Trace Analysis Computer, and under Special Search analyze the encrypted file. It’s a bank transfer report. Go to Brass’ Office and get an interrogating warrant for Everett.
In the interrogation room, talk to Everett about the picture, a happy moment, Connie leaving town, using pregnancy to extort money, and if his wife dry cleans her clothes. Talk to Brass and ask to talk to Nicole. Ask her about the photo in the elevator and if there’s proof she was shopping.
Go back to the Hospital and talk to Connie. Ask about the photo, if he wanted more, and the ticket to Puerto Vallarta.
Go back to the Luxury Suite. Go upstairs into the bedroom, turn left and inspect the green blouse. There’s a USB key on the hanger, pick it up with the gloves. Use the gloves to take the green blouse. Inspect it and use the adhesive lifting tape to get some fibers from it. Spray the front of the blouse with luminol several times to find a bright blue stain. Swab it.
Go back to the Lab. At the microscope, compare the material from the bullet with the fibers from Nicole’s green blouse, it’s a match. In the Trace Analysis Computer go to Video/Image Enhance and analyze the USB key. In the Chemical Analysis, analyze the luminol reaction from the blouse.
Go to Brass’ Office and get an arrest warrant for Nicole. In the interrogation room, tell her you know she tried to kill Connie.
