Case 5: The Peacemaker
Use the PDA to go to the Old West Tourist Museum. Look at the vending machines on the left for a TP. Talk to the suspect (Keith). Ask who he is, why he shot him, ask for fingerprints and DNA. Use the camera to get a photo of the scene. Zoom in on the victim’s chest and take another photo. Inspect the victim’s hand. Use the tweezers to pick up some pink fibers from a fingernail. Inspect the gun, pick it up with the gloves. Use a swab on the pool of blood near the victim’s legs. Inspect the second gun near the victim’s foot and pick it up with the gloves. Inspect the bullet hole on the wall above the victim (to the right of the I in the ice machine). Pick up the bullet with the tweezers. Zoom in on the victim and move the camera up towards the cabinet to find another bullet. Pick it up with the tweezers.
Look at the vending machines on the left for a TP. Click a little bit to the right of Grissom to look at the counter. Zoom in on the counter displays to pick up two 9mm guns. Inspect them to find the prints (on the barrel on the first gun, on the hand grip). Use fingerprint brush & powder to reveal them and adhesive tape to lift them. Walk right and zoom in on the cash register, there’s another bullet. Pick it up with the tweezers. Inspect the glass display. Back up and inspect the floor below the cash register to find another bullet. Pick it up with the tweezers.
Back up to your initial position and turn right. Zoom in on the clothes rack and move to the left. There’s another bullet on the wall (right of the Visa sign), pick it up with the tweezers. There’s a stain on the floor, use the LCV on it and then swab it. Back out from this view and click on the table with old irons. There’s a bullet on the window frame, pick it up with the tweezers. Zoom in on the barrel for a TP. Back up and go into the next area past the table. Turn left and inspect the barrel for another TP. Zoom in on the rugs display to find a bug. Inspect the buffalo statue, horse statue and mannequin for three more TPs.
Go to the Mobile Lab. Use the DNA Database to compare Keith’s DNA with the blood from the floor. Use the Trace Analysis to compare Keith’s fingerprints with partial from the first 9mm. Drag it to the upper left quadrant to get a match. Now compare Keith’s fingerprints with the partial from the second 9mm, and drag it to the bottom left quadrant.
Go to the Morgue. Talk to Dr. Robbins to retrieve the body, ask about cause of death, fingerprints, time of death. Zoom in on the victim’s chest and look at the nipple ring. Ask about the chest wound bullet and shoulder bullet, angles of entry and anything else about the victim.
Go to the Lab. On the Assembly Table, inspect all the guns to get a bullet from each. Lots of work for the Comparison Microscope! Compare the bullet found on the floor with the bullet from the first 9mm, rotate until it matches. Compare the bullet from the cash register with the bullet form the first 9mm. Compare the bullet from the victim’s shoulder with the bullet from the first 9mm. Compare the bullet found in the wall with the bullet from the second 9mm. Compare the bullet found near the the postcards with the bullet from the second 9mm. Compare the bullet from the victim’s chest with the bullet from the second 9mm. Compare the bullet from behind the clothes rack with the bullet from the Peacemaker. Compare the bullet from the window sill with the bullet from the Peacemaker.

Go back to the crime scene. Go around the scene clicking on all eight bullet holes to set up the lasers: dummy’s heart and shoulder, two behind the counter (click on the postcards to get the other), cash register, floor by the counter, window and behind the clothes rack. Zoom in on the broken glass and pick some up with the gloves.
Go to Brass’ Office and ask about the families of the victim and the suspect, if Keith had anything else on him, and get a questioning warrant for Keith.
In the interrogation room, ask Keith about his blood at the scene, where he got the guns, how many shots were fired, what time did he get to the store. Mention he seems eager to help, ask about the semi-automatic guns, he doesn’t seem like a cowboy, and the cartridge casings.
Go back to the Lab and put the glass shards back together on the Assembly Table.
Go to the Casino and talk to Jill. Ask about the boys, Ed Tillis, why this might have happened, and where her sons live. Inspect the plant behind Catherine to get a bug.
Go to Eddie’s Studio. Tell him you’re sorry for his loss, ask where he was at 9 pm, and if Ed and Keith had a disagreement. Look at the CD rack behind him to get a bug.
Go to the triplets’ apartment and talk to Anthony. Ask if he knows why you’re here, when he last saw Keith, that he is alive and well, where he was at 9 pm, why he did this, what’s on the laptop. Ask for fingerprints and to look around. Talk to Billy, when did he see Keith last, and get his fingerprints.
Turn left and inspect the boxes to get a TP. Turn left again, zoom in on the seating area and inspect the laptop case. Use fingerprint brush & powder and adhesive tape to get a print. Inspect the TV for a TP. Turn left and inspect the pool table. Pick up the pink bra and the photo with the gloves. Turn left, inspect the kitchen counter to find a bug. Look at the sink to get a TP, look at the stove for another. Look at the bathroom near the boys to find a bug on the floor. Talk to Anthony again about the bra and the chick. Talk to Billy about the bra.
Go back to the Lab. Use the Microscope to compare the pink fibers with the bra. In Trace Analysis, compare the fingerprints from the laptop case with Ed’s fingerprints.
Go to Brass’ Office. Ask him to check Eddie’s, Anthony’s and Billy’s alibi. Get a questioning warrant for Billy and Anthony.
In the interrogation room, talk to Billy and Anthony. Ask what happened at the store, no guarantees, the leaving the brother behind, a scab on the arm, the laptop, and if there was anyone else at the store.
Talk to Brass and interrogate Keith again. Mention the brothers linked to the crime scene, evidence of another shooter, which body part did he hit first, his two twin brother, not being involved.
Go back to the triplet’s apartment. Inpect the laptop and use the USB data drive to get an encrypted file. Go back to the Lab and use Special Search in Trace Analysis to look at the encrypted file.
Go to Brass’ Office and get a questioning warrant for Eddie. Tell him you found the letter to the triplets and “it didn’t end there”.
Go to the Casino, talk to Jill about the triplets’ girlfriends. As about Kathy and how she gets along with ther sons.
Go to Brass’ Office and ask to talk to Kathy. In the interrogation room, ask how well she knew the triplets, if she used to party with Ed Jr, and if that is her bra. Talk to Billy and Anthony again, mention the threatening letter and the guns.
Go back to the crime scene. Zoom in on the overturned table, move to the right and look at the scratch. Use mikrosil on it to get an impresion. Pick up something from near Grissom’s foot, looks like a broken zipper. Zoom in on the overturned clothes rack and move to the left. Use the magnetic brush & powder and adhesive tape to get the fingerprint.
Go back to the Lab. Compare the metal fragment with the scratch mark under the Microscope. Use Trace Analysis and compare the fingerprint from the clothes rack with Billy’s fingerprints.
Go to Brass’ Office and get a search warrant for Billy and Anthony’s apartment. Go to the apartment, enter the bedroom. Inspect the gun case on the bed and use the gloves to take the gun. Look under this bed for a TP. Inspect the other guncase on the bed to the right for a TP. Inspect the desk for another TP. Inspect the empty gun case on the bed to the left for another TP. Go through the next doorway and use the flashlight on the jeans. Use the gloves to collect the jeans. Examine the cell phone in the pocket and pick it up with the gloves. Use the fingerprint brush & powder and adhesive on the cell phone to get a fingerprint.
Go back to the Lab. Compare the broken zipper with the jeans under the microscope. Use Trace Analysis to compare the fingerprint from the cell phone with Anthony’s, drag the partial to the bottom left quadrant. Use Video/Image Enhance to get a photo from the cell phone.
Go to Brass’ Office and get an arrest warrant for Anthony and Billy. In the interrogation room, talk to Anthony and Billy. Keith covered for them, how did it happen, what about Keith, and why did they let him take the fall. Talk to Jill, tell her her sons will be locked up, and why was she sleeping with Eddie’s son.
