Intro

Dofus is a brand new MMORPG from France that has been fully released in English on September 1, 2005. We’ve gathered up tons of information about many aspects of the game, especially tips for beginners.

We will be updating this guide as we get more information about the different classes, professions, and quests!

Introduction

Dofus is an online MMORPG, originally developed in France and recently released with an English version. It’s a unique world with many different classes, professions, and creatures! There are also quests and factions which shape the world, as well as the backstory about the Dofus eggs (which you can find on their site, www.dofus.com).

This is a Flash-based MMORPG, which means you must have Macromedia Flash installed in some form, whether it is a browser plug-in or the standalone Flash Player (both of which are free from Macromedia.com).

You can either run the Dofus.exe (which is the game shortcut placed on your desktop if you are using Windows), or you can run the Flash file in the Dofus directory (in the beta version this was called “loader.swf”). I happen to own Flash Player and I had no problem just launching the Flash file. I actually recommend this, as running the full screen version seems to lose some resolution. Also, there is a Web page option, if you run Dofus.html it will open a Web browser that loads the Flash file. However, IE 6 users will probably experience annoying security messages, so I just recommend getting the Flash Player.
