The Restaurant is open from 11am to 7pm. Your job consists of waiting tables: you’ll be getting the food orders from your NPC customers, forwarding them to the kitchen and bringing their food back, while keeping the customers entertained and in a good mood. A round ends when all the customers have left.

The welcome message will give you a little summary of how the process works.

As the restaurant opens, NPC’s will enter and take their places at the tables. If you pay attention to how they look, maybe you’ll find someone who looks just like one of your friends. Once they are seated, your job as a waiter is to approach them and take their orders by clicking on the table. You will see a message stating the order, and a ticket will show up on your Sim’s hand.

Restaurant_order

You must take this ticket and place it on the dining podium (where in the offline version you walked to to get seated at a restaurant Downtown). Click on it and choose “Add ticket”. The cook will receive this order and will prepare the food, placing it on the counter once it’s done.

You then pick up the meals and take them to the respective table. Click on the counter and choose “Pick Up Order” to see a list of the meals ready to go. As an alternative, you can just click on the meal and choose “Carry”, but then you need to pay attention to the order in which the tickets went to the kitchen, or you might end up giving the wrong food to the customers. The good part is meals look different, so examine the plate first, and see if it looks like what the customer ordered.

To give a customer his food, click on the table and choose “Give (meal name)”.

Waiting tables isn’t just running around back and forth with meals or empty dishes. You need to keep your customers entertained and in a good mood in order to get a nice tip. This is where your Charisma comes into play, since it affects how the customer will respond to your interactions. Interacting with a customer will decrease their Comfort, so don’t bother them too much. A simple “How is everything?” question is a polite way to check is all is going well or not judging by what the customer tells you (learn how to read thought balloons).

When they are done eating, click on the table to “Present Check”. Don’t bring the check if they’re not done eating, this will decrease their Fun. The overall mood of the customer when he’s done eating will dictate your payout.

Restaurant_payout

You will receive a payout message at the end of each round telling you how much you have earned, and if you gained skill points and job experience.

TIP 1: If you find your NPC coworkers slacking, you have the option to yell at them so they get back to work.

TIP 2: As you gain job levels, you will also gain extra social interactions to use with your customers.
