WORKING AT THE NIGHTCLUB
The Nightclub offers two career tracks: the DJ and the Dancer. DJ and Dancer stations are placed in pairs around the club’s dance floor. Up to four teams consisting of a dancer and a DJ can be at a club, competing for the attention of the NPC club-goers. The more people you gather dancing on your side of the dance floor, the more you get paid.
Each round lasts about 5 minutes, with a minute interval between rounds. At the start of each round, all the NPCs will gather in the middle of the dance floor, waiting for the next DJ/Dancer performance.
The Dancer stands on a platform in front of the DJ booth. His/her job is to find the best dance moves to captivate the crowd. Moves are selected like those in the dance floor control panel.
A good dancer will have a high Body skill and a good diversity of moves, since the less repetitive, the more the crowd will like it. Repetition leads to boredom.
The DJ has a bit more complicated of a job, pleasing the crowd with his/her beats. The tricky part is that the NPCs mood changes, so a DJ needs to continuously adjust and change the music and watch the NPCs reactions.
The DJ booth has four sets of controls, each representing an instrument: drums, bass, synth and vox. By choosing a combination of buttons in each column, the DJ selects the tracks to mix. Creativity is a must for being a good DJ.
The payout is determined by the number of people on your side of the dance floor and the amount of time they’ve spent there, plus the skill level for each job: Creativity for the DJ and Body for the Dancer.
There are extra payouts for certain events:
- DJ Cooperation and Dancer Cooperation happens when all four DJs or all four dancers in the club hit a maximum crowd-pleasing at the same time. The payout is doubled as long as they can keep it up.
- Dancer/DJ Cooperation happens when a team of Dancer and DJ hit a maximum crowd-pleasing at the same time.
The good thing about working at the Nightclub is that you can also raise your Body and Creativity while playing Dancer or DJ.
